Associate in Applied Science

This degree prepares students to enter the business world and successfully accept positions in accounting, business administration and related fields. Students may also continue to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and/or business.

Upon Completion of this program students will be able to:

  • Use critical thinking and creative and logical analysis skills, strategies and techniques to solve complex business and accounting problems;
  • Use clear and concise communication (oral, written, and electronic) to convey relevant financial and non-financial information to target audiences so that decision makers can formulate informed decisions and take action;
  • Identify ethical issues associated with business situations and apply appropriate principles of ethics and civic responsibility;
  • Use research tools to monitor evolving accounting standards and practices and to maintain professional skills in a changing business environment;
  • Use research tools to monitor evolving federal taxation rules;
  • Design an accounting system.
