If this is the first page of data/calculations, there should be a heading. |
10.7 what? Miles, lightyears, grams? |
You can measure to the nearest 0.1 cm in most cases! If it is exactly 22cm, you better write "22.0" |
If these measurements are all taken in the same manner, why are they recorded to different precisions (number of decimal places)? |
| This came from a calculation. I don't know what calculation, and neither will you after a few days. |
| What is this number? Where did it come from? All measurements should be labeled, like "L=7.5 cm" |
| I have no idea where this came from. There should probably be a calculation in the big empty space above it. |
Never write this unless you can
identify the human or the error... and it should be something beyond
your experimental control.
Again, you need to elaborate. Was
there a problem with a sensor? Don't tell me this for a measurement
involving a ruler!
I wish not to see this, unless it
is in good fun.
That's more like it. Discuss things
that were beyond your experimental control or weren't accounted for
in your model!

| OK, it's now mid-semester and bad habits are creeping in. Some are things that will cost you points when I grade the notebook. Please allow me to rant interactively via the following notebook page. |
