The Associate in Arts in Literature is designed for students who wish to major in English and/or linguistics. A broad base in the humanities prepares students for transfer to a four-year college for the baccalaureate degree.
Careers that English studies lead to include advertising, broadcasting, journalism, law, teaching and writing.
This option can be earned part-time.
ACCC's Literary Enrichment Professional Series is designed for those with an interest in literature. Participants will find their thinking challenged and broadened by writers from a wide range of centuries and cultures and have an opportunity to develop their own voices. They will experience the pleasure of possessing a clearer view of their judgments and a stronger ability to express them with eloquence and force.
A student of the series is required to take a total of four classes:
Upon completion of the series, the student will receive a letter of recognition. More importantly, he or she will have begun a stimulating intellectual experience that may lead to a lifetime of enjoyment in reading, thinking and writing. Participants will be able to transfer the earned credits to four-year colleges and universities as general electives or as courses to be applied toward a B.A. in English.
