Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Awards Four Scholarships to Culinary and Hospitality Students at Academy of Culinary Arts Food & Wine Festival Nov. 17

November 20, 2017

The Academy of Culinary Arts Food & Wine Festival held Friday, Nov. 17, welcomed nearly 120 attendants to the Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College’s Mays Landing Campus where they dined on authentic French country food and desserts prepared and served by ACA students, as well as sampled international wines.

The event took place in the working kitchens of the academy offering a rare, behind-the-scenes look at how our area’s top culinary and hospitality students prepare for such a unique event. In the past, it was known as a Beaujolais Nouveau tasting open only to Chaîne members and their guests, but last November the event was reimagined as the Academy of Culinary Arts Food & Wine Festival. During the celebration, the Atlantic City chapter of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs awarded three $1,000 scholarships to culinary students, and one $1,000 scholarships to hospitality students. Scholarship recipients are Khoi Bui of Atlantic City; Isabella McLaughlin of Brigantine; Ashley Vassallo of Williamstown; and Morgan Markee of Millville. The award also included membership into the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.

Proceeds raised at the event support scholarships for culinary and hospitality students at Atlantic Cape Community College. Past events have raised more than $100,000 in scholarships.

Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is an international gastronomic society founded in Paris in 1950. The Chaîne is based on the traditions and practices of the old French royal guild of goose roasters whose members are dedicated to fine cuisine and wine.

The ACA is the No. 1 culinary school in New Jersey, has been training future chefs by nationally recognized chef educators for 35 years, and is accredited by the American Culinary Federation. For more information about the ACA, call 1-800-645‑CHEF, email, or visit
