New Trustee White-Coursey Joins the Atlantic Cape Trustees; Resolutions and Contracts Approved at October Board Meeting

The Atlantic Cape Community College Board of Trustees meeting was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus.

The board was joined by its new trustee, Leslie White-Coursey, an educator for over 16 years and the vice principal at Martin Luther King Jr. School in Atlantic City.


Approved Consent Resolutions:

--Regular Session Minutes from Sept. 26, 2017. (Res. 23)   

--Revised Board of Trustee Bylaws to include an Adopt Policy #28- Board Attendance. (Res. 157)

--Revised Board of Trustee Policy #10 for clarity and to be now known as Professor Emeritus Status. (Res. 28)

--FY17 Draft Financial Statement for twelve months ended June 30, 2017 as of Oct. 14, 2017. (Res. 2)

--FY18 Financial Statement for three months ended Sept. 30, 2017. (Res. 24)        


Approved Contracts and Purchases:

-- Bid Ex 790- Building Management System Maintenance- five-year contract, Honeywell Building Solutions, Marlton, NJ $616,743.00. (Res. 26)     

-- Bid Ex 791: 5-year lease agreement with maintenance for IBM servers, State Contract, Ocean Computers, $372,339.00. (Res. 27)


Personnel Action:

--Approved appointment of Joy Little, controller, effective Oct. 25.

--Approved promotion of Michael Sargente, from program coordinator, Learning Assistance Center


to assistant director, Learning Assistance Center and library services, effective Oct. 25.

--Approved reclassification of Leslie Atherholt, senior clerk, Bursar’s Office to specialist, Bursar’s Office, effective Oct. 25.

--Approved the following transfers from Probationary Position to Recall List (Res. 25A):

Tak Shun Chung, technician, information technology services/PC services, retroactive to Oct. 22, and Linda Jones, specialist, academic affairs, retroactive to Oct. 22.


In Grants Action, the Board Approved:

-- Accepting a one year, no-cost extension for Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program (NJ GEAR UP)/College Bound with a maximum of $160,802 to provide academic enrichment services to target schools in Atlantic City and Pleasantville for the 12 month term of 09/26/2017 to 09/25/2018, and meet a cost-share requirement up to a maximum of $56,281($.35 for every state and federal dollar received).
