Master Technician, Institutional Research

Duties: Reports to the Director Institutional Research, Assessment and Planning;
develops, coordinates and implements the collegeís institutional research and assessment data collection, analysis and report writing activities; researches, establishes and maintains institutional data libraries for research, assessment, and reporting; designs and writes programs to access data from various sources; confers with college-wide stakeholders to create systematic processes designed to assess the outcomes of student success interventions and programs; develops relational databases to store and access research and assessment data; participates in the assessment of institutional and program effectiveness through the development and dissemination of institutional and program outcomes reports; researches, evaluates and maintains a real-time catalog of information via the intra and internet; supports college-wide data owners to ensure data integrity and reliability in the institutional relational database; acts as liaison between department and student outcomes assessment and other college departments to assess data needs and database access; takes a leading role in recommending research protocols to departments so that they can assess, develop and implement data-driven decisions; assists end-users in the development of survey instruments and assessment tools, including Web-based applications; analyzes and supports research and assessment efforts using the institutional relational database, Microsoft Office, and advanced business intelligence, reporting and statistical analysis tools; serves on college committees including CORE (internal information technology users group); responsible for the timely reporting to external agencies as required; other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:Bachelorís degree. Five years of institutional research experience. Database management experience. Ability to program and produce reports from the institutionís information management system using Business Intelligence applications. Ability to support quantitative research and assessment efforts with statistical analysis tools such as SPSS or equivalent. Strong computer literacy and analytical skills.
 Note: This position may require flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.
