GEAR UP! Curriculum Specialist

Hourly Rate: $25 per hour/maximum 20 hours per week
Duties: Reports to the Director, Workforce Development; must have knowledge of the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards and Common Core Curriculum Standards (CCCS); pedagogical knowledge and success in the classroom as a teacher in math, science, and language arts; familiar with curriculum and have a thorough understanding of subject differentiation; read, interpret, and implement curriculum guidelines; works with target school district curriculum coordinator/specialists to develop curriculum to ensure that all state requirements are being met. knowledgeable of developmentally appropriate curriculum; ability to implement curriculum and conduct observations of classroom instructors; experience with assessing and evaluation of curriculum; understand the use and ability to implement alternative assessments as measures; experience with unit/lesson planning; grading and scheduling courses; ensure that performance standards are met; provide instructional leadership to instructors to ensure quality teaching; facilitate and present professional development for staff; track student progress/course goals /objectives and outcomes; use data to drive instructional decisions; develop and revise instructional plan to meet performance standards; evaluate and measure program outcomes, analyze data, and prepare reports; identify and utilize state and local resources within the community and maintain positive relationships; works with GEAR UP! Program Coordinator and the Senior Manger of Grant Compliance on required reports; works with other Atlantic Cape departments to meet program objectives; serves; teaches classes in the absence of instructors; related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:Bachelorís degree. A valid K-12 certification. 3-5 years of teaching experience. Knowledge and experience with curriculum development. Knowledge of the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards and Common Core Curriculum Standards (CCCS). Technology skills to include Microsoft Office. Familiar with social media. Strong communication and organizational skills. Experience delivering presentations.
 Note: This position requires flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.
