Prerequisite: A high school diploma or GED. Ability to type at least 35 wpm, a basic understanding of word processing, and command of English grammar and punctuation.
Pharmacy technicians assist and support licensed pharmacists in providing healthcare to patients. This program will prepare you for an entry-level pharmacy technician position. You will learn medical and pharmaceutical terminology, basic anatomy related to the pharmacology of medications and pharmaceutical calculations. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be prepared to take the National Certification Exam offered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
You will be required to perform clinical rotations, including 20 hours of retail experience and 20 hours of hospital experience. The instructor will help you locate facilities.
