Prerequisites: High school diploma or GED and successful completion of an academic assessment test.
Get solid, comprehensive training in appointment scheduling, receptionist duties, filing, billing, coding, collections and all that is necessary to work as a medical office specialist. Coursework includes anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, medical billing, CPT-4/ICD-9 coding, appointment scheduling, computerized billing and medical administrative office procedures. After successful completion of this program, you will be qualified to take two National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification exams and become a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) and a Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS). Certification exams are included in the fees.
