Electrocardiogram Technician

Prerequisite: High school diploma or GED.

This 11-week program prepares students to function as an EKG Technician. The curriculum includes anatomy and physiology of the heart, medical
terminology, medical disease processes and appropriate treatments, medical ethics, the legal aspects of patient contact and electrocardiography, and
CPR certification.

Additionally, students will practice the proper use of the EKG machine, perform hands-on functions using the EKG machine, and learn proper 12-lead placement and basic dysrhythmia interpretation.

Students successfully completing all course requirements will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification examination. The cost of this exam is included in the program. Textbooks required at additional cost.
