During the 2011-2012 academic year, the college took major strides to improve the campus learning environment, foster student success and raise critical dollars to support capital and scholarship initiatives.
- Underscoring the college's stated commitment to improve student success, Atlantic Cape launched a college-wide Student Success Initiative and joined the Achieving the Dream network.
- On the building front, we celebrated the start of the first capital construction called for in the college's Blueprint 2020 Master Plan when we hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking for the Caesars Entertainment Wing for Hospitality and Gaming Studies at the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus.
- The college's first major gifts campaign, Create Opportunity, entered the public phase and made significant progress toward its $2.5 million goal At this writing, the campaign has tallied more than $2.1 million as it moves toward its September 2013 completion.
- Finally, we continued to strengthen our partnership with Stockton College and ease the way for Atlantic Cape students to transfer there, when we entered into an innovative Dual Degree Program agreement.
For the coming year, we look forward to finishing the new WACC wing, marking substantial progress on the new Science Technology Engineering and Math building, and wrapping up the major gifts campaign. I invite you to visit www.atlantic.edu for updates on all these and other major Atlantic Cape initiatives.
