Middle States Accepts Monitoring Report, Affirms College’s Accreditation
The Middle States Commission on Higher Education voted June 24, 2010, to accept the College’s Monitoring Report, affirming Atlantic Cape’s institutional accreditation.
Dr. Mora said he was delighted with the outcome. "The affirmation of accreditation from the MSCHE is the single most important enterprise-wide event in the five years I have served as president of Atlantic Cape Community College. I am exceedingly proud of the Institutional Effectiveness Committee and all members of the College community whose efforts led to this successful outcome."
Dr. Richard Perniciaro, Dean of Facilities, Planning and Research, and Dr. Art Wexler, Vice President of Academic Affairs, chaired the committee, which was charged with developing a comprehensive Monitoring Report in response to the results of the 10-Year Middle States Evaluation the College received in 2006. That evaluation covered FY’96 through FY’05.
From 2006 to 2010, the College worked with the MSCHE to develop and implement an Institutional Effectiveness Plan. That plan established a college-wide assessment process and created a tighter coordination of the planning and budgeting functions. In its most recent action, Middle States found these improvements to be in keeping with its “Characteristics of Excellence in Higher Education,” the standard set for accreditation of all institutions in our region.
The affirmation of accreditation from the MSCHE is the single most important enterprise-wide event in the five years I have served as president of Atlantic Cape Community College.
