Construction Under Way on Rutgers Building
Work is under way at the site of the future Rutgers building on the Mays Landing Campus. Clearing of the site has been completed, including the removal of some trees and tennis court paving. Fencing is being installed to identify the construction site area, and activity at the site will continue to increase.
Rutgers University will move its operations from Q-building to a new facility that will be built on the existing tennis courts. The project will cost between $6 million and $7.5 million, with about 22,000 square feet, allowing Rutgers to accommodate as many as 2,000 Atlantic Cape graduates. The building is designed to expand to twice the original size, if/when necessary, and is expected to meet LEED Silver certification standards.
Any questions regarding the construction should be directed to Mark Streckenbein, director, Facilities Planning & Construction, at strecken@atlantic.edu or (609) 343-5124.
