Special Admission Programs
High School Students and Approved Home School Programs
Atlantic Cape offers the opportunity for selected high school students, who have completed at least their first year of high school, to attend credit courses on a part-time basis. You must test at college level to be able to enroll and may only attend part-time as an undeclared major.
In order to enroll as a high school student, you must:
- Submit a written recommendation from your high school principal or guidance counselor. Home school students must provide a copy of your local school district's certification and follow the procedures outlined in the Home School policy.
- Complete the application for admission, print or online.
- Take the Placement Test unless you meet the requirements for a waiver.
- You may enroll part-time as an undeclared major until you receive a high school diploma or reach 18 years of age. Undeclared majors are not eligible for financial aid.
High School students may apply for admission through concurrent enrollment, dual credit or articulation agreements with permission of their high school. For more information on these programs, contact the Admissions Office at (609)343-5000 or (609)463-4774, ext. 5000.
Advanced Placement
Atlantic Cape awards transfer credit, in selected subjects, up to a maximum of 32 credits for Advanced Placement tests taken in high school when you earn a grade of 3 or higher. Eligible courses and credits awarded.
Project Second Chance
The NJ Department of Education offers those without a high school diploma the opportunity to earn one, while taking college level courses. You must be at least 18 years of age.
Once accepted to the Project Second Chance program, you must complete a required course of study. This includes 30 college credits, with 15 in a chosen major. You then must pass the High School Proficiency Test in order to apply to the State for your high school diploma.
To enroll in Project Second Chance:
- Complete the application for admission, print or online.
- Take the Placement Test. If you score below college-level English and mathematics you must complete developmental courses prior to beginning the program.

International Students
International students seeking an F-1 or M-1 International Student Visa for entry into the United States must provide additional supporting documentation. Students from outside the United States who are not seeking an F-1 or M-1 International Student Visa may apply to Atlantic Cape by following the general college admission requirements and must pay out of state rates for tuition for the first 24 credits earned, then are eligible for in-county rates.
SAGES
SAGES admission (Senior Adult Gaining Education & Stimulation) available to Atlantic and Cape May County residents aged 60 years or older. SAGES may enroll tuition-free on a space available basis on the last day of open registration. All other fees and costs for books and supplies still apply.
Unemployed Residents
Unemployed residents of Atlantic and Cape May County are provided with resources through both credit and continuing education programs. More information is available from the Admissions Office or the local county One-Stop office.
