Careme’s Cafe Series
Take the intimate feel of a coffee-house, add top-notch live contemporary folk/rock, mix in a light gourmet dinner, and you’re enjoying an evening at Careme’s Cafe. Since the cafe series first emerged in 1996, demand for tickets has grown along with the program’s reputation for really good entertainment. Only about 60 guests are admitted to each performance, so it’s a good idea to buy tickets well in advance. The Cafe Series is held in Careme's, the gourmet restaurant operated by the Academy of Culinary Arts on Atlantic Cape's Mays Landing Campus.

People who love folk rock appreciate this chance to see and hear really good performers close-up. Careme’s introduces you to the most talented emerging musicians, often before they are discovered by the music world at large. Many musicians are singer-songwriters. Food at Careme’s is prepared and served by student-chefs from the Academy of Culinary Arts, under the supervision of Academy faculty. The light four-course dinner includes soup, salad, choice of entree and choice of dessert. Entrees include a vegetable. Some past entrees: lacquered game hen with Calvados, apple cider, honey and figs; grilled herbed polenta tian with eggplant, portabella and smoked tomato coulis. Typical desserts: chocolate souffle cake with white chocolate ganache and raspberry coulis; poached pears with apricot compote and port wine reduction. Menu for the upcoming concert is usually available about three weeks before the event.
Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 8:15 p.m.
