Alumnus: Mike Stollenwerk
Chef Mike Stollenwerk has climbed the ladder of success in Philadelphia's culinary scene, starting with the transformation of Bella Vista’s Little Fish in 2007. Little Fish was named the third best new seafood restaurant by Bon Appétit, featured in Philadelphia Magazine’s 2008 Top 50 Restaurants and awarded Dish of the Year.
In October 2009, Stollenwerk's second restaurant--Fish--opened in Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. Fish features a contemporary design, fantastic wine selection and menu, which includes Stollenwerk's famous Japanese Sea Bass, named one of the top 10 Best Dishes in the city by Philadelphia Magazine.
Across the bridge in New Jersey, Stollenwerk got his first taste of the restaurant business. By 15 years old, he was working beside a restaurant chef and by 19, he earned the title of sous chef at Cape May's Washington Inn.
In 1999, Stollenwerk graduated from the Academy of Culinary Arts at the top of his class.
