Description: Moving Furniture, Equipment and Events Set-ups
Since Facilities Management must normally reschedule work and personnel and/or work shifts to handle special events, it is imperative that staff be given as much lead time as possible for set-ups, etc. The Facilities Management Office should receive all information a minimum of two (2) weeks prior to the event. Failure to provide adequate lead time may result in our inability to service your event.
- Requests for moving of furniture, materials or other equipment within a building or from one building to another, setting up of equipment and/or furniture for special events shall be submitted to the Facilities Management Office in written memo form or on a "Work Request" form at least two (2) weeks prior to the event. Set-up requests must include location, type of service required, date and time of time of the event, sketch or diagrams showing layout for set-up, and the individual to be contacted for coordination of the requested service.
- Relocation requests for major equipment must be filed on an "Equipment Relocation Request" form (see 915.5-Supplement 1).
- The Facilities Management Office shall notify the Business Services Office of the changed location of property tagged for inventory control.
- Facilities Management reserves the right to refuse any move request if the supervisor feels that the move could endanger the health and safety of Facilities employees. At this point, the requester can abandon the request or agree to pay an outside contractor. The Facilities Management Office will make all arrangements with the outside contractor.
