Description: Naming of Buildings/Rooms/Roads

HISTORY:
The original buildings on the Mays Landing Campus were named for historical Atlantic County persons. Roads on campus were given Indian names by the Atlantic County Historical Society in 1965. The Nurse Education Facility was named the Ruth Lee Allied Health Facility. Conference rooms in the "J" Building Conference Center were named in honor of former trustees Anita Metzger, Dr. Harry A. Sweeney and Vincent Cantillon. The John J. Rosenbaum Conference Center was named in honor of the College's first employee and first Board Secretary. The portion of the upper floor of "J" Building, devoted to general college administration, was named the Dr. Oliver Henderson Administration Wing in memory of a former Vice President. The library was named the William J. Spangler Library, in memory of the College's first Librarian.

Buildings, or portions thereof, should be named for people who have had a direct relationship and impact on the development of Atlantic Cape Community College. Any new roads should be given Indian names, in keeping with the ones already named.
