August 3, 2010
The 2010 Atlantic Cape Community College “Scramble Fore Scholarships” golf tournament is planned for Friday, Oct. 15, at Cape May National Golf Club in Cape May. Partnering with the Atlantic Cape Foundation, CMNGC will host the tournament to raise scholarship money and commemorate the 5-year anniversary of the college’s Cape May County Campus.
The tournament will follow a scramble format, beginning with a shotgun-start at
11 a.m. Player fees, which include gift bags, lunch and a dinner awards banquet, are $125 per person and $500 per foursome.
Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City will cater the awards dinner, hosted by the Chalfonte Hotel in Cape May. Dessert will be prepared by students at Atlantic Cape’s Academy of Culinary Arts. The awards dinner will also serve as the capstone event of a week-long celebration of the 5-year anniversary of CMCC.
This year, golfers can participate in a $1 million hole-in-one shoot-out. Individuals and businesses can also participate in six sponsorship package opportunities ranging from $100 to $5,000. Last year’s event raised $29,000 for Atlantic Cape scholarships.
Located on Route 9 near renowned Victorian Cape May, and centrally located along one of the world’s most famous bird migration flyways, Cape May National has been recognized as one of the most naturally beautiful courses in the United States.
