ACCC Offers ‘Orientation to Substitute Teaching’ Starting Feb. 24 at CMCC

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE—A few places are still available in the popular course, Orientation to Substitute Teaching, offered by Atlantic Cape Community College at the Cape May County Campus.

The five-week, one-credit course begins on Friday, Feb. 24, and concludes on Friday, March 24. It meets on campus, 341 Court House-South Dennis Rd., on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

The course provides students with the fundamental skills and knowledge to become substitute teachers in grades pre-K through 12. Subjects that will be discussed include understanding students, preparing lesson plans, classroom management and becoming a successful substitute. Enrollees will learn teaching techniques, observe experienced teachers, and, upon approval, be placed on district lists.
