Art Gallery Features Work of Marian Reinheimer
March 9, 2010
Atlantic Cape Community College's Art Gallery is featuring the work of artist Marian Reinheimer through March 25. An opening reception to meet the artist will be held 1-3:30 p.m., Sunday, March 14. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
Reinheimer, a native of Philadelphia, didn't discover the joy of painting until later in life. Upon retirement, she moved to Longport and earned an associate degree in studio arts at Atlantic Cape and a bachelor's degree from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Since then, she has devoted herself to sharing her enthusiasm and skill with others.
While a student at Atlantic Cape, she collaborated with her art professor to establish an art program for the community, known as the Studio Arts Workshops. This year marks the 25th anniversary of these workshops, which continue to bring outstanding, professional artists monthly to the school, for all-day workshops in watercolor and other media.
Marian, now 87, continues to paint, concentrating on local scenes and commissioned house portraits. Her work has won numerous awards in art exhibitions and many of her paintings are in private collections.
Atlantic Cape's Art Gallery is located on the Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike, adjacent to the theater in C-building (C-125), parking lot #3. Gallery hours can be obtained by calling the Atlantic Cape Art Gallery Information Line, (609) 343-5040.
