2010 Restaurant Gala Honors Food Network Chef and Casino Industry Leader

The Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala will celebrate "A Mo'Rockin Night," with Food Network Celebrity Chef Aaron McCargo Jr., and Joe Domenico, senior vice president and general manager of Bally's and Caesars, Atlantic City at the March 11 event.

A former student at Atlantic Cape's Academy of Culinary Arts, McCargo won The Next Food Network Star in 2008, battling thousands of culinary hopefuls for his own Food Network show, Big Daddy's House. McCargo has a passion for bold flavors and family cooking. The show premiered in August 2008, and achieved early success as the number one "In the Kitchen" weekend show.

McCargo has been featured on many television programs, including The Today Show, Regis and Kelly and Rachael Ray, and is a contributor for ESSENCE magazine. McCargo also helps more than 12 million children overcome hunger by devoting time to the Great American Dine Out and with Share Our Strength. The Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation and the Academy of Culinary Arts will celebrate McCargo's culinary accomplishments and community involvement at the 2010 Restaurant Gala.

The Foundation is also honoring Domenico, a 29-year veteran of Harrah's Entertainment and local philanthropist, for his leadership in the casino industry, exemplary commitment to the community and support of the Restaurant Gala.

Domenico has been involved in every financial and operational aspect of Harrah's casino gaming industry. Additionally, he has supported numerous charities, including the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation, The United Way of Atlantic County and the Bacharach Hospital Foundation.

Since 1984, the Gala has raised more than $2 million for scholarships at the Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape.

The 27th annual Gala begins at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 11, at Bally's. It will feature hors d'oeuvres prepared by the students at the Academy, original dishes from 40 of the area's best restaurants, and a dessert extravaganza. Tickets are $200 per person.
