Atlantic Cape Offers Green Building Courses

Those already in, or about to enter, the booming green building field now have a variety of options to receive training and certification in the latest environmental trends, thanks to the Green Education Institute at Atlantic Cape Community College.
Green Building Today!, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 12, explores this multi-billion dollar industry with an in-depth overview of the design and construction of environmentally friendly buildings. The class is intended for architects, designers, contractors, builders, municipal officials and those who seek an understanding of green building principles and methodologies, for either professional or personal interest.
LEED Green Associate Exam Prep, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., two Saturdays, Oct. 17 and 24, covers green design and building technologies-for new and existing structures-and prepares professionals to take the LEED Green Associate exam.
EcoBroker Certification, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Wednesday, Oct. 19-21, explores how to proactively address such environmental issues as radon, asbestos, lead and mold, indoor air quality, solar energy and more.
Cost Effective Solutions for Green Home Design, 9 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Oct. 24, focuses on how to build or renovate homes on budget while achieving good design, energy efficiency and low operational costs.
