ACCC Offers Timely Financial Workshops

In today's uncertain economy, a proactive approach to managing one's personal finances is more important than ever. Financial workshops at Atlantic Cape Community College this fall give practical advice, from cutting costs with coupons to making smart investments.

For those ready to make the transition to being their own boss, there's the new Cash in with a Successful Home-Based Business workshop, 6-8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 28, at Mays Landing East.

For those who want to learn how to save hundreds of dollars per year on grocery bills, there's the new Create Your Own Stimulus Package with Coupons workshop, 7:15-8:15 p.m., two Fridays beginning Oct. 9, at the Worthington Atlantic City Campus, and 7:15-8:15 p.m., two Fridays beginning Oct. 23, at the Mays Landing Campus.

Retirement Planning TodayTM offers practical advice on how to manage investment risks, how to save money on taxes and the saving needed today to retire comfortably in the future. Classes are at 6:30-9:30 p.m., two Tuesdays beginning Oct. 20, at the Mays Landing Campus, or 9 a.m.-noon, two Saturdays beginning Oct. 24, at the Cape May County Campus.

Basics of Investing for Women is for women of all ages, and is especially useful for single, widowed or divorced women who wish to learn the basics of investing and planning for the future. The class is at 5-9:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Mays Landing Campus.
