ACCC Presents Tuneful ‘Schoolhouse Rock Live’ Free on March 12 in Two Locations
January 19, 2006“Schoolhouse Rock Live,” the bright and entertaining theater production for children based on the popular 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series, will be performed free on March 12 at two locations. The performances are sponsored by Atlantic Cape Community College in association with the New Jersey Theater Alliance’s Family Week at the Theater.
The production will be performed by Beach Haven’s highly regarded Surflight Theater on Sunday, March 12, at noon at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center in Cape May Court House and at 4 p.m. in the Walter Edge Theater on the ACCC Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike.
“Schoolhouse Rock Live” is good, clean fun and educational, too, like the cartoon series that taught history, grammar, math, science and politics through songs and comical live action. Songs include: “A Noun is a Person, Place or Thing,” “Three is a Magic Number,” “Unpack your Adjectives,” “Just a Bill,” “The Preamble,” “Do the Circulation,” “Conjunction Junction,” “Great American Melting Pot,” “Interplanet Janet,” “Interjections,” and many more. It is recommended for students in grades K to 5.
Family Week at the Theatre is an annual statewide festival offering free tickets to young people and their families. It was developed to encourage families to attend professional theatre together.
Performances are free of charge for everyone, but reservations are necessary. For more information or to make a reservation, call College Relations at (609) 343- 4907.
