Hit the Road with Day Trips to New York, Washington, D.C.

The community can sign up for a series of day trips throughout the fall that are coordinated and presented by Boscov's Travel.
The first is a visit to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Forbes Gallery, Thursday, Sept. 10, $58 per person. Located in the Forbes Magazine Building, this features thousands of vintage toys, antiques, objets d'art, presidential papers and other documents Malcolm S. Forbes Sr. began collecting in the 1930s.
A trip to Ellis Island is on the agenda for Saturday, Sept. 12, $89 per person. Visitors can trace the paths of the millions of immigrants who came to America between 1892 and 1954, after which there will be a guided tour of Manhattan.
Travelers can enjoy the hues of autumn with the Hudson River Foliage Cruise, Saturday, Oct. 17, $141 per person. The trip includes a cruise aboard the Spirit of New York, a buffet lunch, cabaret show and music for dancing.
A visit to the Terra Cotta Warriors at the National Geographic Museum in Washington, D.C., is planned for Saturday, Nov. 21, $82 per person. This display features the 2,000-year-old, life-size clay statues that were buried in massive underground pits to accompany China's first emperor, Qin Shihuangdi, into the afterlife. The discovery outside the city of Xi'an in 1974 is one of the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century. Visitors can enhance their trip with an informative seminar, 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Institute for Service Excellence, Hamilton Mall, Mays Landing. The seminar is $19 per person.
