ACCC Offering New GIS Course; Fall Classes Begin Aug. 31

Atlantic Cape Community College is offering Introduction to Geographic Information Systems for the first time this fall. There is a great demand in government and industry for professionals with the knowledge and skills in the area of GIS, a computer mapping system that allows us to interpret and visualize data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns and trends in the form of maps, globes, reports and charts. Training in GIS also is useful for students pursuing careers in environmental science, engineering, business, criminal justice and more.
GIST101 is an elective course that will be offered at the Mays Landing and Cape May campuses and online. For more information about GIS at ACCC, visit www.atlantic.edu/gis.
The last day to register in person is Friday, Aug. 28. The last day to register online, by fax or mail is Sunday, Aug. 30. Regular in-person registration hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays. Extended registration hours from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. will be held Monday, Aug. 24-Thursday, Aug. 27.
The college's locations are: Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike; the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd.; and the Cape May County Campus, 341 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House.
