Casino Career Institute Celebrates 30th Anniversary with New Training Options
August 21, 2008
In honor of its 30th anniversary, the Casino Career Institute at Atlantic Cape Community College will feature numerous new classes and special events throughout the coming year.
For the first time, the CCI is offering English for Table Games Dealers. Non-English speaking dealers will learn words, phrases and expressions required to better communicate with customers and supervisors. The class takes place 10 a.m.-noon, four Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Sept. 16.
CCI also will feature a comprehensive one-day series of Seminars for Gaming Professionals, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 16. The purpose of these seminars is to address the need for effective control of gaming revenue and resources in today's booming casino industry. The wide range of topics include Table Games Revenue Cycle, with information about counter checks, table games staffing and risk and internal control; Slot Machine Revenue Cycle; Cashiering Operations; and Organizational Controls.
Since its debut, CCI has prepared more than 50,000 people for positions in gaming and continues to be the industry's training leader.
Located at the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, the newly renovated CCI is minutes from the casinos, giving students a first-hand view of the industry of which they can become a part. CCI includes a mock casino, a fully-equipped slot lab, a student lounge and free on-site parking with full-time security.
The CCI is at 1535 Bacharach Blvd., Atlantic City. For more information, call (609) 343-4848, or visit www.atlantic.edu/conted.
