ACCC Art Gallery Exhibit Features Paintings by Pleasantville Artist
February 4, 2008
Atlantic Cape Community College's Art Gallery will feature the 2005-07 paintings of Tyrone L. Hart of Pleasantville, Feb. 4-28. A reception to meet the artist will be held 1-4 p.m., Sunday, Feb.10. Snow date for the reception is Feb. 17. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
Hart is a self-taught artist who paints exuberant, vibrantly hued acrylic paintings. His powerful and emotional images deal with life on the city streets, politics and religion, children's innocent smiles, sultry women, quiet family moments and "the sound of Da-Blues in a lonely room."
At the age of 13, Hart realized that there was magic in his hands. In 2000, he was in a car accident that prevented him from going back to his job in the clothing industry, so he "returned to feel that magic and put it down on canvas for the world to experience." The ACCC Art Gallery is on the Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike, adjacent to the theater in C-building (C-125). Visitors use parking lot 3.
