Academy of Culinary Arts Hosts Open Houses
October 24, 2007
The Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College will host two open houses at its Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike: Wednesday, Nov. 14, 9 a.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 12, 4:30 p.m. The open house events are open to anyone who loves to cook and is interested in beginning an exciting culinary career.
The Academy of Culinary Arts offers two-year degree programs in culinary arts, food service management and baking and pastry. Students can also earn a culinary arts or baking and pastry certificate in just three semesters or complete one of four short-term specializations in less than one year in baking and pastry, hot food, catering and food service management.
The ACA opened in 1981 to meet the growing needs of the hospitality industry. Full-time classes at the Academy meet five hours a day, Monday through Friday, in a morning or afternoon session from January through May and August through December. Evening classes are offered two nights a week in eight-week cycles.
Because the ACA is a division of a public institution, it costs considerably less than comparable two‑year cooking schools. Scholarships, work‑study opportunities and financial aid are available.
