ACA Awards 22 Culinary Scholarships

The Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College awarded $1,000-$1,500 scholarships to 22 New Jersey students beginning culinary classes this fall.

The scholarship recipients are: Kenneth Anderson of Williamstown, Anthony Auliano of Turnersville, Ryan Connelly of Magnolia, David Daly of Blenheim, Rachel Ferraro of Ocean City, Joshua Heard of Bridgeton, Caitlin Hickey of Egg Harbor Township, Matt McGuire of Sewell, Marc Meneghetti of Vineland, Robert Mustardo of Ventnor, Danielle Notorfrancesco of Mount Royal, Amanda O'Brien of Medford, Paige Puentes of Hammonton, Michael Rodgers Jr. of Port Norris, Andrew Roberson of New Egypt, Zack Simpson of Winslow, Nina Stecher of Harrisonville, Joshua Thorpe of Millville, Alicia Williams of Egg Harbor Township, Heather Wright of Hancocks Bridge, and Chris Zakrzewski of Sayreville.

The recipients had to pass a placement test, write a culinary-themed essay and submit a letter of recommendation.

 The ACA offers two-year degree programs in Culinary Arts, Food Service Management and Baking and Pastry. Full-time classes meet five hours a day, Monday through Friday, in a morning or afternoon session from August through December and January to May. Full-time students not pursuing a degree can complete the requirements for a culinary certificate in three semesters. Part-time and evening classes are available.
