ACCC's Health Professions Institute Offers Summer and Fall Courses

The Health Professions Institute is offering allied and auxiliary health career training this summer and fall at Atlantic Cape Community College's Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd.

            Available courses are:

  • Certified Nurses Aide: This program will prepare you to sit for the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services written examination and the required skills evaluation. As a Certified Nurses Aide, you will be eligible for employment in a long-term care facility, assisted living facility, adult medical day care, or some hospitals. Call for schedule.
  • Medical Assistant: Upon completion of all course requirements, students will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcare Association certification examination. Classes begin in October, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Medical Administrative Office Specialist: After completion of this program, you will be qualified to take two National Healthcare Association certification exams and become a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant and a Certified Billing and Coding Specialist. Classes begin this fall.

Courses are also available online, including:

·         Medical Transcription Certificate: This course is designed to provide you with a beginning knowledge of the transcription of medical records. A complete Medical Terminology course is included with the certificate program; you will also be introduced to basic human anatomy. The course offers open registration.

·         Pharmacy Technician: This program will prepare you for an entry level pharmacy technician position. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be prepared to take the National Certification Exam offered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. The course offers open registration.
