Lynda Phommathep of Mays Landing Named Atlantic Cape Employee of the Year
January 3, 2017
Atlantic Cape Community College has named Lynda Phommathep of Mays Landing the 2017 Employee of the Year. Phommathep joined the college in 2007 as an office assistant for Adjunct Development and Administrative Services and then became office coordinator for Geographic Information Systems in 2009. She currently serves as office assistant for Career, Technical and STEM Education; and since 2015 Phommathep has been an adjunct instructor in Office Systems Technology.
“Lynda has an incredible work ethic, and her passion for excellence is relentless,” said Donna Vassallo, dean of Career Education at Atlantic Cape. “Lynda is a true team player; she jumps in when she sees a fellow colleague who needs assistance.”
In selecting Phommathep for this award, coworkers specifically commended her dedication, organizational skills, professionalism and cheerful attitude. Phommathep, who holds a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, was surprised that she was selected because, “I know that everyone works very hard.”
The Employee of the Year award is presented to a member of support staff who makes Atlantic Cape a place where students and visitors feel comfortable and welcomed. The Employee of the Year is also someone who works hard and is pleasant and helpful. Phommathep will receive a reserved parking spot and gift certificate for Careme’s, the on-campus restaurant run by the Academy of Culinary Arts.
