December 14, 2016

Students unable to attend on-campus classes due to work schedules, child-care duties or disability, may still achieve their educational goals by taking online courses at Atlantic Cape Community College which is holding registration now for the spring semester. Students may view course offerings and register online through Jan. 16 by visiting www.atlantic.edu/webadvisor.

Online classes will be offered during two eight-week semesters. In the first session, Jan. 17 – March 11, students may take Principles of Management, Introduction to Computers, Ethics in Criminal Justice, Composition II, U.S. History II, Statistical Methods or Principles of Sociology.

In the second online session, March 20 – May 13, students may opt for Principles of Marketing, Introduction to Computers, Criminal Law, Introduction to Literature, Western World II, Statistical Methods or Child Psychology.

Atlantic Cape, ranked a Top Online Community College in 2015 and 2016, offers 13 online associate degrees with more than 100 courses available online. Not only are these courses convenient by offering anytime anyplace learning, but they are also more affordable than those offered by other colleges, with tuition of $149 per credit for online courses.

In online courses, students typically use their home computers with an internet connection to gather with classmates and faculty in a classroom without walls where they can post comments to class discussions, submit homework, chat with classmates and contact their instructor. Those without home computers may use computers located at any Atlantic Cape campus.

The college recommends that students taking online courses have good organizational and time management skills. Those interested in taking an online course may complete the online survey “Are Online Courses Right for You?” at www.atlantic.edu/online/onlineSurvey.html.

Students may also register in person weekdays, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. through Jan. 13 at any Atlantic Cape campus: however, the college is closed for winter break Dec. 24 – Jan. 2.  Campuses are located in Mays Landing at 5100 Black Horse Pike; Atlantic City at the Charles D.
