Taste Your Way Around The World With Academy of Culinary Arts Dessert Series

Atlantic Cape Community College’s Academy of Culinary Arts will offer dessert enthusiasts opportunities to learn how to prepare an assortment of sweet treats just in time for the holidays. Chef Mary Lou D’Angelo ’85 ACA of Ventnor City will lead the series.
Explore three delicious American desserts: Bread pudding with bourbon sauce, apple cobbler, and individual strawberry shortcakes with cinnamon honey biscuits in American Fare, Sept. 10.
Learn the basics of how to ice and decorate a cake including, making a buttercream icing and using a pastry bag in Cake Decorating, Sept. 24.
Discover how to create these three chocolate concoctions: Chocolate cheesecake, flourless chocolate torte, and chocolate mousse roulades in Sinful Chocolate Cakes, Oct. 8.
Italian Favorites will explore some Old World classics including, ricotta cheesecake, meringue nest with fresh berries, and lemon almond tarts, Oct. 29.
Add a classic touch to your entertaining with these French desserts: apple tart tartin, orange Grand Marnier soufflé, and chocolate raspberry banana bouton in French Delights, Nov. 12.
In Breakfast Goodies attendants will learn how to make homemade sticky buns, rich Philadelphia butter cake, and blueberry crumb cake, Dec. 10.
Classes will be held at Atlantic Cape’s Academy of Culinary Arts, 5100 Black Horse Pike, in Mays Landing. All courses will be held in Kitchen 2 with the exception of American Fare, which will be held in Kitchen 1.
