Culinary Scholarships Available for Casino Workers; Applications Due July 26
July 10, 2006Atlantic City hotel-casino employees interested in pursuing a culinary degree are eligible for scholarships to the Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College.
Seven $1,000 Vince DeFinis Hotel Casino Scholarships are available for the fall semester. Applicants must demonstrate the potential to succeed in the culinary industry through letters of recommendation from their supervisor and executive chef and write a 250-word essay that includes professional goals.

The ACA offers two-year degree programs in Culinary Arts, Food Service Management and Baking and Pastry. Full-time classes meet five hours a day, Monday through Friday, in a morning or afternoon session from August through December and January to May. Full-time students not pursuing a degree can complete the requirements for a culinary certificate in three semesters. Part-time and evening classes are available.
