Atlantic Cape to Hold July 9 Open House for Office Systems Technology, Paralegal Studies Programs

June 19, 2013

Atlantic Cape Community College will hold open houses for those interested in learning more about careers, education and certifications in Office Systems Technology and Paralegal Studies from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, in the J-Building lobby at the Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike, and Monday, Aug. 5, at the Cape May County Campus, 341 Court House-South Dennis Road.

The Paralegal Studies Program is an American Bar Association-approved program. The open house is designed for those who are interested in learning more about the program. The program is intended to train students to become paralegals, not training lawyers or legal administrators. Atlantic Cape offers two Paralegal Studies degrees, an Associate in Applied Science and an Associate in Science.

The Office Systems Technology program is designed to help meet the demand for qualified and capable workers to fill thousands of corporate and government openings for administrative office professionals. This program is offered on a full- and part-time basis with classes available online and in person. Certificate programs and an Associate in Applied Science in Office Systems Technology are available at Atlantic Cape.

The administrative professional’s job today requires skills in management functions and technology, including: project management; integrated computer software applications; organization and scheduling; internet/intranet communications and research; document preparation, storage and retrieval, with emphasis on electronic recordkeeping; customer service and public relations, according to the International Association of Administrative Professionals.
