Administrative Professionals Week Event Planned for April 25

Atlantic Cape Community College will celebrate Administrative Professionals Week with an event sponsored by Administrative Office Procedures students. The event, “Honoring the office professionals who make offices work,” will be held 5:30-7 p.m., Thursday, April 25, in Cafeteria B at Atlantic Cape’s Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike.
The evening will include exhibitors, refreshments and a presentation at 6 p.m., titled “The Office Professional...Setting and Achieving Goals,” presented by Otto Hernandez, chairperson, information systems & aviation studies, and Professor JoAnne DeCicco Barbieri.
Administrative professionals handle a wide variety of duties in management and technology for businesses, corporations, government and public and private organizations. Service-learning projects are incorporated for students to share their administrative and computer skills as volunteers in the community.
Atlantic Cape offers an associate in applied science degree in Office Systems Technology, as well as a Computing for Small Business degree option, plus professional series certificate programs, including: Bilingual Office Specialist, Educational Office Specialist, Legal Office Specialist, Medical Office Specialist and Microsoft Office Specialist.
The International Association of Administrative Professionals, formerly known as the National Secretaries Association, originally organized this annual event in 1952 as “National Secretaries Week.”
