ACA’s Chef Vincent Tedeschi Named Educator of the Year

Chef Vincent Tedeschi, a chef educator at Academy of Culinary Arts, was named Educator of the Year by the Professional Chefs Association of South Jersey, a chapter of the American Culinary Federation, at the 41st annual President’s Ball, Feb. 10, at the Golden Nugget Hotel Casino in Atlantic City. 

The award is presented to an educator whose knowledge, skills and expertise have enhanced the image of the professional chef. The recipient should also demonstrate the ability to help students define and develop their careers by using their skills and abilities to provide a strong foundation for their future success.

A 1998 graduate of the ACA, Tedeschi specializes in hot foods, garde manger, Italian regional cuisine and ice sculpting. He brings nearly two decades of professional experience to the classroom from his former positions at the Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point, Cousins’ Country House in Egg Harbor Township and as a chef and owner of his catering business “Fiddler’s Well Catering.” Tedeschi has also served as a personal chef for Cher and her entourage while she was performing in Atlantic City.            

Tedeschi is a Certified Chef de Cuisine, Certified Culinary Educator, Approved Certification Evaluator and a team coach for students competing in a variety of cooking competitions, including: the New York Food Show and the American Culinary Federation’s Northeast Regional Competition.

The Professional Chefs Association of South Jersey promotes the culinary profession and provides ongoing educational training and networking for members. It provides opportunities for competition, professional recognition and access to educational forums with other culinarians at local, regional, national and international events for its 140 local junior, student and associate members.
