Atlantic Cape’s Capital Campaign Exceeds $2 Million with $25,000 Donation from A&R Mack Charitable Foundation
December 20, 2012
The Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation received a $25,000 gift from A&R Mack Charitable Foundation on behalf of Anthony and Rita Mack of Galloway Dec. 20. The donation will establish an endowed scholarship fund that will benefit Atlantic County students attending Atlantic Cape.
Anthony and Rita Mack own and operate two McDonald’s Family Restaurants in Atlantic City. The Macks became McDonald’s owners in 1986 and have volunteered countless hours to local projects and organizations.
“We are honored to receive this gift from the Mack family. The creation of an endowed scholarship is the best way to ensure Atlantic Cape students will always have the support they need to attend college. This contribution is particularly significant because it has helped us reach a milestone in our Create Opportunity Campaign. Thanks to Rita and Tony the campaign exceeded the $2 million dollar mark and brought us much closer to our goal of $2.5 million,” Dr. Peter Mora, Atlantic Cape president, said.
“Create Opportunity: The Capital & Scholarship Campaign for Atlantic Cape Community College,” is the college’s first major gifts campaign. The campaign has two initiatives: increase college-based financial assistance by enhancing the scholarship endowment and secure funding to purchase furnishings and scientific equipment for the new Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics facility to be built on the Mays Landing Campus.
