ACA to Host Sustainable Dinner Oct. 16; Proceeds Benefit the Organic Greenhouse

Atlantic Cape Community College’s Academy of Culinary Arts will host a sustainable dinner to celebrate World Food Day, 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, in Careme’s Restaurant, M-building, 5100 Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing.
The event will feature speaker Marguerite Chandler of Cape May, a social entrepreneur who has helped build more than 10 nonprofit organizations, including: the FoodBank Network of Somerset County and Celebrate NJ! Slow Food South Jersey, a chapter of Slow Food USA. Chandler will lead a discussion about the increasingly popular slow food movement.
The dinner will be the epitome of farm-to-table dining, and will be prepared and served by the ACA’s talented students. The four-course menu will feature ingredients planted and harvested in Atlantic Cape’s organic greenhouse, responsibly harvested seafood and free-range poultry.
