Atlantic Cape to Offer Personal Enrichment Classes this Summer

Atlantic Cape Community College will offer a variety of personal enrichment classes this summer.

Child Safety Seat Restraints, learn the current regulations in child passenger safety, including crash dynamics, seat belts, securing children properly in the vehicle, and liability and the law, 6-9 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday, June 29-30; Monday and Tuesday, July 18-19; Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 16-17; and 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 6.

Defensive Driving, participants will learn how to avoid collisions, recognize common driving hazards and react appropriately. Successful completion of this course entitles participants to the benefits of point reductions and insurance discounts, 6-9 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday, June 22-23; 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Saturday, July 9; Wednesday and Thursday, July 13-14; and Aug. 3-4.

Safe Boating and Personal Watercraft, learn the basics of safe boating, including the rules of the road, laws and safety. This course is suitable for adults and children 10 years and older, 6:30-10 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday, July 20-21; Aug. 24-25; and Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 19-20.

Fall Gardening, learn how to make divisions for perennials, fertilize, harvest vegetables, plant spring bulbs, properly prune and winterize your garden. Participants should bring their own garden gloves, 9-11 a.m., three Thursdays, beginning July 14 and Aug. 25. 

Watercolor for Beginners, learn basic watercolor techniques from Atlantic Cape’s Assistant Professor of Art Cheryl Knowles-Harrigan. This course is open for adults 18 and older, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Wednesday-Thursday, July 6-7.

Personal Enrichment classes are offered at the Mays Landing and Mays Landing East Campuses, 5100 Black Horse Pike; and the Cape May County Campus, 341 Court House-South Dennis Road, in Cape May Court House.
