April 6, 2011

The Casino Career Institute of Atlantic Cape Community College has prepared more than 50,000 people for rewarding careers in gaming and continues to offer top-notch training for those who wish to enter the expanding casino profession.

Classes currently offered are Craps, Baccarat, Poker, Pai Gow Tiles, Roulette, Pai Gow Poker, Asia Poker and Carnival Games. In addition, the CCI offers Introduction to Casino Games/Blackjack, which prepares students for entry into any primary or secondary game.

The CCI also offers training in non-dealing casino professions, such as:

Electronic Equipment Technician, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday, starting June 7, offers training to begin a career as a slot technician, arcade technician or vending technician. Students will learn to install, repair, service or calibrate games and machines. Successful completion of this course allows students to sit for the Gaming and Vending Technicians Certification exam.

Also, new monthly Electronic Equipment Technician information sessions will be held 6-7:30 p.m., on the third Wednesday of each month, at the Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd., Atlantic City. Attendees will learn about program content, internships and the gaming and vending certification. Interested participants should visit www.atlantic.edu/conted to register for a session.

Tuition assistance and scholarships are available for eligible students.

Gaming classes begin every two weeks. Classes are offered morning, afternoon and evening. For more information, or to register, call (609) 343-4848 or visit www.atlantic.edu/cci.
