Careme's Restaurant: A South Jersey Vegan-Friendly Venue

March 1, 2011

Careme’s Restaurant at Atlantic Cape Community College’s Academy of Culinary Arts is the venue of choice for vegan fine dining in South Jersey.

Careme’s will open its doors to the public for two special events this spring, hosted by the American Vegan Society:

·      Spring Celebration Dinner, 6:30 p.m., Monday, March 21, enjoy a “Meatout” meal at Atlantic Cape’s student-run, gourmet restaurant. Reservations due: Saturday, March 12.

·      New-Moon Dinner Buffet, 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, an opportunity to treat mom to a delicious and healthy dining experience. Reservations due: Friday, April 25.

Tours of the ACA kitchens and Atlantic Cape’s organic greenhouse begin at 5:45 p.m.

For information about AVS event menus, pricing and reservations, contact the American Vegan Society at (856) 694-2887, or visit www.americanvegan.org.

“Flexibility of the menu in Careme’s allows the students to work with current trends in the food industry, which include popular cuisines, ethnic specialties and contemporary concepts,” said Chef Kelly McClay, dean of the Academy of Culinary Arts. “In response to sustainability, organics and local sourcing, students have been preparing and serving healthy menus as well as vegan event menus, in response to customer demand.”

Careme’s Restaurant is located in M-Building on the Mays Landing campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike. Learn more about the ACA’s gourmet restaurant at www.atlantic.edu/aca, or call (609) 343-4940 to make reservations for your next event.
