Save the Date for May 16 Green Solutions Conference

Atlantic Cape Community College will host a Green Solutions Conference for the Hospitality Industry, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. (networking begins at 8 a.m., conference begins at 9 a.m.), Monday, May 16, at the Cape May County Campus, 341 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House. The conference is sponsored by the Green Education Institute at Atlantic Cape, the Cape May County Chamber and South Jersey Energy Solutions and Marsh & McLennan Agency, and partnered with Wyndham Worldwide, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, U.S. Green Building Council/New Jersey Chapter and the Atlantic City Hotel & Lodging Association.

Conference highlights include:

·      Opening remarks by Michele Siekerka, assistant commissioner of the Office of Economic Growth and Green Energy

·      Keynote presentation, “Green Solutions for the Hospitality Industry, It Can Be Done!” by Faith Taylor, vice president of sustainability and innovation at Wyndham Worldwide

·      Panel discussion, “A Bottom-Line Approach to Sustainability,” featuring moderator Dr. Richard Perniciaro, dean of facilities, planning and research at Atlantic Cape; Perry Hansen, general manager, Element Hotel; Charles Link, director of engineering, Hyatt Regency; and Faith Taylor, vice president of sustainability ∧ innovation at Wyndham Worldwide

·      Panel discussion, “Everybody Wins with Sustainability,” will focus on green solutions, impact and return on investment

A networking session with a tropical breakfast will kick off the event. Participants will also have an opportunity to explore green vendor tables and exhibits.
