Atlantic Cape's College Relations Team Captures 10 Awards

Atlantic Cape Community College earned national and regional recognition this fall for its public relations and marketing efforts, including being recognized as the top social media program for community colleges in the Northeast. 

Atlantic Cape received five Medallion Awards at the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations District I Conference in Providence, R.I. The awards include: Gold for Social Marketing and Original Photography; Silver for Online Marketing/Advertising and Notes/Cards/Invitations; and Bronze for Communications Success Story.

The Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America awarded Atlantic Cape with a Pepperpot for Development or Fundraising and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education District II Accolades Awards program honored the college with a Bronze Award for Special Events-Individual Events. Both awards recognized the 2010 Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala.

The Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association recognized Atlantic Cape with Gold Jaspers for Special Events Planning/Special Events Series and Television/Video/TV Special Programming; and a Silver Jasper for Print Material Brochure-Under $8,000.

Major projects that garnered success this year include: the 2010 Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala, “What’s Cooking” television segment on NBC-40, featuring Academy of Culinary Arts chefs and students; and Atlantic Cape’s social media program.

Award-winning College Relations staff members include: Mike Capen of Bellmawr, graphic artist; Stacey Clapp of Mays Landing, public relations and publications manager; Kathy Corbalis of Glassboro, executive director of college relations; Joe D’Agostino of Linwood, senior manager of web systems and marketing; Geoffrey Pettifer of Galloway, director of college marketing; and Chelsea Pizzi of Pitman, public relations and social media specialist.
