Atlantic Cape Partners with SJI for Green Training
November 19, 2010
Atlantic Cape Community College is offering training to 10 South Jersey Industries employees that will equip the workers with the knowledge and expertise to conduct energy audits that are increasingly in demand as consumers look to minimize their energy use or look for “green” alternatives.
SJI received about $20,000 in funding from the New Jersey State Employment and Training Commission’s State Energy Sector Partnership Program to contract with Atlantic Cape for the Building Analyst Certification training. In addition, SJI and Atlantic Cape have partnered with the Nature Center of Cape May, which is providing its facility for use in the hands-on training and the field portion of the certification exam.
Building Analyst Certification, a 35-hour training course, is one of many courses Atlantic Cape is offering through its Green Education Institute. Upcoming classes include: Fundamentals of Green Building Certificate Program, Building the Green Home, Green Building for Existing Homes, and Home Wind Energy.
