Club to Show Documentary of Local Railroad History Nov. 17

October 28, 2010

The History and Government Club at Atlantic Cape Community College is sponsoring a free showing of the documentary “De Luxe: The Tale of the Blue Comet,” at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17, in the Walter Edge Theater. The event is open to the public.

New Jersey documentary filmmaker Robert A. Emmons Jr. digs up and brings to life this obscure tale in New Jersey history with De Luxe: The Tale of the Blue Comet. The Central Railroad of New Jersey train featured blue and cream passenger cars that captivated onlookers and riders from Jersey City to Atlantic City from 1929 to 1941. This showing will also include a Q&A with Emmons, a professor at Rutgers University-Camden. More information on the documentary is available at

The documentary will be shown in the Walter Edge Theater, Building C, of Atlantic Cape’s Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike. For more information, contact Tristan Stoltzfus at (609) 343-4918 or
