Tickets on Sale for 23rd Annual Restaurant Gala; Event to Honor Commerce Bank Founder

February 3, 2006

MAYS LANDING--Tickets are now on sale for the area’s premier black-tie fund-raising event dedicated to raising scholarship money for students at the Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College.

The Press of Atlantic City Restaurant Gala will take attendees on a wild adventure of the senses at this spring’s event, Thursday, March 23, at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The 23rd annual Gala invites patrons to “Feast Your Eyes” on the culinary delights of nearly 40 of the area’s best restaurants.

The annual black-tie event also includes music, dancing and a dessert extravaganza. The Gala provides a venue for the finest area restaurants to showcase their house specialties to nearly 1,000 community leaders, business people, casino executives and food lovers.

The event, which is presented by Commerce Bank, has raised more than $1 million for student scholarships since 1984, including $168,000 in 2005.

Also at this year’s Restaurant Gala, Vernon Hill, founder and chairman of Commerce Bank, will be honored for his long-time support of education and the scholarship fund-raiser.

Beginning with a sumptuous cocktail, raw bar, hot and cold hors d’oeuvres reception prepared and served by ACA students at 6:30 p.m., the evening will progress to a dining extravaganza buffet at 8 p.m. Live music by A Sharp Productions and an elegant dessert reception will complete the night’s events.
Tickets to the Gala cost $175 per person and can be ordered by (609) 343-5674.

In addition to food and entertainment, the ACCC Foundation offers the chance to win up to $22,500 in the Press of Atlantic City Restaurant Gala 50/50 Raffle. The drawing also includes a $7,500 second prize and $2,500 third, fourth and fifth prizes. Proceeds benefit student scholarships at ACCC.

Only 750 raffle tickets will be sold at $100 each. Winning dollar amounts are based on all 750 tickets being sold. The drawing will be held during the Restaurant Gala on March 23. For 50/50 Gala Raffle tickets, call (609) 343-5634.
